A longtime Lowcountry entertainment destination is preparing for a major comeback.
Frankie’s Fun Park announced that its original Charleston-area location at 5000 Ashley Phosphate Road in North Charleston will reopen this fall with new rides, attractions, spaces and a completely updated look.
The company says it spent the past year reimagining the park where Frankie’s began more than 35 years ago.
What’s changing at Frankie’s?
Plans for the revamped park include five new outdoor rides, a redesigned go-kart experience and several new indoor attractions. Visitors can also expect an updated arcade, laser tag, bumper cars, dining areas and additional family-entertainment options.
The project includes a new 18,875-square-foot arcade building and renovations to the existing facility, according to ADW Architects.
A familiar name gets a new chapter
The North Charleston park was the original Frankie’s location and has served the Charleston area for more than three decades. Concept renderings show a dramatically redesigned exterior with illuminated architectural features, expanded gathering areas and a modern new entrance.
When will Frankie’s reopen?
Frankie’s has not announced an exact reopening date. In its official announcement, the company said the North Charleston park will return this fall and that more details will be released in the coming weeks.
